# Costs

> How Meta Business Agent usage is billed: Meta charges the credit line of your WhatsApp Business account.

## Jelou does not charge anything additional

Activating and using Meta Business Agent carries **no additional charge from Jelou**. It is not added to your Jelou invoice. It is available on every plan, including the **Free plan**.

## Meta bills the usage

**Meta bills the agent's usage directly**, to the credit line of the WhatsApp Business account associated with the number, according to Meta's current rate.

This means:

* The charge appears on Meta's side, not Jelou's.
* To open the agent to `everyone`, the WhatsApp Business account needs an **active credit line and a valid payment method**.
* With the audience set to `allowlist only`, Meta **no longer requires a payment method** to turn the agent on, so you can test it before setting up billing.

> [!WARNING]
>
> If you open the agent to `everyone` without a valid payment method, the number can end up blocked on Meta's side. Check your account's billing status before activating the agent in production.

## The usage breakdown is not available yet

**Meta does not expose the per-conversation cost breakdown yet.** That is why the Jelou dashboard **cannot show that cost** today.

Once Meta publishes that breakdown, it will be reflected in the panel.

> [!NOTE]
>
> In the meantime, the reference for usage and charges is Meta's own billing on the WhatsApp Business account.
