You don’t need a verified WhatsApp account. If your account isn’t verified, the web page opens in the phone’s browser instead of inside WhatsApp.
Prerequisites
✅ Checklist to start without blockers
- You must have the public URL of your Terms and Conditions to configure in the agent. This is mandatory.
- The user must be able to take photos from the chat (camera permissions must be enabled on the device).
- Location permissions are also requested so data can be collected for better audit and traceability of the biometric process.
How does it work?
The user completes the following steps:1
Access via a unique link
The user receives a unique WhatsApp link to start the session. The link contains a non-reusable session ID and the associated flow information.
2
Take a photo of their face
The user captures a live photo with the camera, with visual guides to make sure the shot is correct. The system validates that it is a real person.
3
Capture their identity document
Front and back images of the document are requested, with visual assistance to validate that it is current and authentic.
3.1 Government verification (optional)
Validates the document data against an official source, such as the civil registry. It has an additional cost on top of the base biometrics price and is highly recommended.
- The official source confirms whether the submitted data is true or false.
- The query is only made if the document first passed the technical validation.
- The user doesn’t take any extra step: the query is automatic, using the data extracted from their document.
- If the source doesn’t confirm them, the process is automatically rejected.
3.2 Human review - HIL (optional)
A human operator reviews the documents the system can’t resolve with certainty, instead of rejecting them automatically. It is available only for Enterprise accounts and has an additional cost.
- Raises the approval rate by 5% to 15%.
- Applies to documents only. It does not review selfies.
- The operator receives the case in their queue, reviews the document photos and the extracted data, and decides: approve, reject with a reason, or reject and send the user to the blacklist.
- Every decision is logged with who made it, when, and under what criteria.
4
Automatic facial comparison
The system compares the photo to the face extracted from the document and calculates the similarity level. If it falls below the threshold you defined, the process is rejected. With government validation of data and photo, it is also compared against the official photo.
How to connect the integration?
How to connect the Biometrics integration
