Install a gateway and test charges end to end without your own account or credentials.
Test mode lets you install a gateway and validate a charge end to end without your own account or credentials.Use it to test your workflow — amount, checkout, and Approved / Rejected results — before you connect your account and charge for real. When you’re done validating, connect your account on the same installation. You don’t need to rebuild the workflow.
Test mode does not process real payments or settle funds. It has up to 10 tests per configuration.
When you install a compatible gateway, you can choose how to start:
Try with Jelou: test the integration without creating a provider account or entering your own credentials.
Connect my account: connect your own test or production credentials. Follow that provider’s Connect in Brain Studio guide.
If you choose Try with Jelou, you select the country (when applicable) and currency and VAT are set based on that selection. You have up to 10 tests to validate the flow.
You can start the installation from Marketplace, the Payments node on Canvas, Jelou Agent, or a compatible template.

Choose the gateway
When you go to install a gateway, pick the one you want to test.Test mode is available for Conekta, Kushki, Mercado Pago, Nuvei, PayPal, Payphone, Stripe, and Wompi.
DeUna does not have test mode yet. It can only be installed with Connect my account.

Choose Try with Jelou
In the connection modal, choose Try with Jelou and press Continue.
Review the country, currency, and Test limit.If test mode for that gateway is available in a single country, it will come preselected. If it’s available in several, choose the Country and the Currency will adjust automatically.
The country cannot be changed after installation. If you need a different country, disconnect the gateway and install it again.

Country, currency, and test limit with a fixed country
In Mercado Pago and Kushki you choose the Country. Currency updates when the selection changes.
Press Install in test mode. The gateway becomes available in your workspace in test mode.On the integration and on the Payments node you will see that it is in test mode.
When you finish, you can install a template with a workflow already set up: amount, test card, and messages based on the payment result. One click and it opens in Brain Studio ready to test.
Build the workflow before having the merchant's account
A merchant hasn’t delivered credentials yet: the team installs the gateway in test mode, opens the template, and validates checkout and the Approved / Rejected branches. When the credentials arrive, they connect the merchant’s account without rebuilding the workflow.
Validate the payment experience in a market
A workflow that will charge in a specific market: Mercado Pago or Kushki is installed in test mode by choosing the corresponding Country. The team walks through checkout and validates the full flow before connecting the real account.
Evaluate a gateway before opening an account
A team deciding between gateways: they install Stripe or Kushki in test mode, complete a full payment, and discard the one that doesn’t fit. No need to open a provider account for that comparison.
