The HSM Template (Highly Structured Message) node sends pre-approved WhatsApp templates to one or more recipients. Templates are fixed-format messages that Meta has previously verified, which allow dynamic fields for personalization.

When to use it

HSM templates are mandatory for initiating conversations with WhatsApp users outside the 24-hour window. They are common for:
  • Notifications and alerts
  • Order or appointment confirmations
  • Payment reminders
  • Approved marketing campaigns

Configuration

Select a template

Choose a template from the list of available templates in your WhatsApp Business account. You can refresh the list with the refresh button.

Define the recipients

Add one or more phone numbers to which the template will be sent. You can use variables such as {{$user.phone}}.

Media (optional)

If the template includes multimedia content (image, video, document), upload the corresponding file.

Parameters

The dynamic fields of the template appear automatically when you select it. Fill in each parameter with the value or variable you want to insert.

Response

If the template includes quick reply buttons, configure the behavior of each one:
  • Link to skill: Redirects the user to another flow when the button is tapped
  • Send text: Responds with a text message
Additional options:
  • Single-use button: Deactivates the buttons after the first selection
  • Parameters in memory: Saves additional values when the user taps a button
