Prerequisites
Before you start, make sure you have:- An Email channel created in Jelou.
- The forwarding address provided by Jelou, in the format
forward@<companyName>.jlu.ai. - Administrator access to the mailbox you want to forward.
You must repeat this setup for each mailbox you want to connect to Jelou. Every mailbox is configured independently.
Example with Gmail
The exact steps depend on your email provider. Below is the process using Gmail (Google Workspace):Step 1: Prepare the email address
Create or identify the email address your customers will write to. Verify that it can receive emails before continuing.Step 2: Open Gmail settings
Sign in to that account and click the settings icon in the top right corner. Gmail opens a quick settings panel — click See all settings to open the full settings page.Step 3: Go to the forwarding tab
Select the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.Step 4: Add the Jelou address
In the Forwarding section, click Add a forwarding address and enter the address provided by Jelou:Step 5: Confirm the verification
That verification arrives at Jelou, not in your mailbox. Ask Jelou for the verification link or code and enter it in Gmail to confirm the address.Step 6: Enable forwarding
Back in the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab:- Select the Forward a copy of incoming mail to… option.
- Choose the Jelou forwarding address from the dropdown.
- Choose what to do with the Gmail copy: you can keep it in your inbox, archive it, or send it to trash.
Step 7: Save your changes
Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page. Forwarding becomes active immediately.Verification
To confirm everything is set up correctly, send a test email to your mailbox and check that the conversation appears in Jelou. If the email doesn’t arrive, check that:- Forwarding is enabled, not just added.
- The forwarding address is verified in Gmail.
- You are using the exact address Jelou provided.
Next step
If you will also send emails from your own domain, configure the DNS records:Authorize sending from your domain
