Connect Mercado Pago to enable the provider in your workspace and make the payment node available in Brain Studio with an embedded WebView experience.

Before you begin

Make sure you have:
To obtain or review credentials, follow Obtaining credentials.
For the checkout to open inside WhatsApp (embedded WebView), the account must be WhatsApp Business verified.If it is not verified, the checkout will open in the device’s external browser.

Ways to start installation

You can start installing Mercado Pago from different points in Brain Studio. All paths use the same provider configuration.
Ask Jelou Agent to add Mercado Pago payments while you build or adjust a flow.Examples:
  • “Add Mercado Pago payments to this flow”
  • “I need a Mercado Pago checkout for this use case”
Jelou Agent detects Mercado Pago as an available provider from Marketplace and starts the assisted installation flow.
All installation paths use the same provider configuration. What changes is where you start the flow.

Common installation flow

Regardless of the entry point, the shared process is as follows.

Choose test or production credentials

Brain Studio will ask you to select whether you are connecting Mercado Pago with test credentials or production credentials.In Mercado Pago, these credentials correspond to the Access Token from Test credentials or Production credentials.

Enter the Access Token

Paste the API Key (Mercado Pago Access Token) that matches the selected environment.

Configure VAT and currency

Define the VAT applied that the integration will use and select the Charge currency.The currency must match the country of the Mercado Pago credentials you used for installation. For example, if you connected Chile credentials, select CLP - Chilean peso.
If the currency does not match your credentials’ country, the connection may fail or charges may behave inconsistently.

Confirm connection

Click Connect integration. Brain Studio will save the configuration and make Mercado Pago available in your workspace.

Use Mercado Pago from the Payments node in Canvas

After installation, you can use Mercado Pago from the Payments node in Canvas, regardless of whether you started from Jelou Agent, Marketplace, the Payments node, or a template.

Test vs production credentials

Test credentials do not process real payments. Before operating in production, you must connect Mercado Pago using a production Access Token.
If you connect Mercado Pago with test credentials, you will need test users and a buyer email from test mode when testing the node. See Usage and configuration.

Go to production

If you installed Mercado Pago with test credentials, you can use the payment node for testing. To operate with real payments:

Open Go to production

You can start the change from:
  • The advanced sidebar of the Mercado Pago node in Canvas
  • The Mercado Pago page in Marketplace
In both cases, the same modal opens to move the integration to production.

Enter the production Access Token

Enter the Access Token from Mercado Pago Production credentials.

Confirm the change

Confirm the action. From that point on, the integration operates with production credentials.

Change credentials

  • To move from test to production with the same installation, use Go to production.
  • To rotate credentials or replace the configuration, disconnect Mercado Pago and reinstall it following the common installation flow on this page.
